Saudi Trading & Research Co. Ltd. (STARC) is a limited liability company established in Al-Khobar in 1992. The company offers solutions to the oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, and water desalination markets in Saudi Arabia.
The solutions offered cover a broad spectrum within these industries, but primarily focus on pipeline, corrosion, instrumentation, process technology and fire and safety solutions. In addition, STARC offers pipeline repair services.
Over a decade ago, STARC targeted corrosion as a sector where it could provide significant value to the industry by offering services and supplying products to address the increasing complexity of this problem. As such, in the last ten years, STARC has developed and expanded its expertise in pipeline solutions where corrosion is most prevalent. It offers its clients a vast array of services and products within this sector including pipeline repair using composite materials. It also provides its customer with specialty pipeline coatings for the sealing and corrosion protection of pipeline joints and other substrates. It has also installed numerous specialized connectors and seals on onshore and offshore pipelines.
STARC supplies liquid analyzers for various applications including pH, conductivity, ozone, nitrate, sodium, silica amongst others. STARC also supplies visual-based analyzer technology for oil in water, solid particles, and high-temperature applications. STARC also supplies the oil, gas and petrochemical industries with storage tanks, floating tank roofs, aluminum domes and seals.
It also sells specialized software for asset and reservoir management and oil spills monitoring and performs ultra-high resolution offshore seismic surveys. STARC is also licensed to import and store all forms of industrial chemicals.
Over the years, STARC has also established several joint ventures with foreign partners in the manufacturing and services sectors. It presently is the only manufacturer of hydrotreating catalysts in Saudi Arabia which it sells locally and exports globally. It also offers numerous services including process technology, valve stocking, valve monitoring and QA/QC inspection.
